Lama Rod Owens's Dharma Talks
Lama Rod Owens
Lama Rod Owens is the Guiding Teacher for the Radical Dharma Boston Collective and teaches with Inward Bound Mindfulness Education (iBme) where he is also a faculty member for the organization’s teacher training program. He holds a Master of Divinity degree in Buddhist Studies from Harvard Divinity School with a focus on the intersection of social change, identity, and spiritual practice. He is a co-author of Radical Dharma, Talking Race, Love, and Liberation, which explores race in the context of American Buddhist communities. He also contributed a chapter on working with anger and difficult emotions in the book Real World Mindfulness for Beginners. He has offered talks, retreats, and workshops at Harvard, Yale, Tufts, NYU, and other universities. His current writing project is an exploration of intersectional masculinity and spirituality.

Lama Rod Owens is the guest teacher for this evening. Members of POC Sangha and Insight Out LGBTQI Sangha are invited to attend. The usual 5/22 Insight Out meeting is cancelled. This sitting group provides instruction in insight meditation and fosters mutual support and understanding among the growing community of people of color who find nourishment and inspiration in the practice of meditation.

This is the main track of lama rod dharma talk. During this talk, after thirty two minutes, an approx. 25 minutes guided meditation practice took place. the guided practice was extracted and was made a standalone track which you can access as well. A short small bell sound was inserted to mark the point in which the talk was paused. It then continues seamlessly. However, after the guided meditation, a five minute break in which sangha members were offered to submit written questions, and it is that which lama rod refers to after the short bell sound.
